Holy crap, this DS game is amazing
Released in Japan a few years ago and inspired by a popular manga/anime, Kochira Katsushikaku Kameari Kouenmae Hashutsujo features all sorts of fun minigames like: dog breakdancing, Super Mario Bros. 3-style face matching, and some kind of crying/ballet dancing activity. I need to import this.

Shin Megami Tensei IV continues to look and sound hot in this new Japanese trailer, and this time we get a lot of gameplay footage. I know Atlus doesn’t want to distract away from Code of Princess, but it needs to announce this and Etrian Odyssey IV for the U.S. already.

yes yes please and thank you
Very serious trailer for Shin Megami Tensei IV (no gameplay), included with newly-released 3DS copies of Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers in Japan — Atlus has yet to announce either of the two titles for the West yet.
I am totally down for this music.

aaaaAAAAAA
Square Enix and Silicon Studio’s 3DS RPG Bravely Default: Flying Fairy will be released in Japan October 11, in both a standard edition and a Collectors Edition exclusive to the “e-Store.” Note that it’s the Square Enix e-Store, an online store run by the publisher, and not the 3DS’s eShop.
The ¥12,800 Collectors Edition comes with the game, an art album, a soundtrack, an “original protect case” for your 3DS, and an AR poster.
In Japan, this news is accompanied by the release of yet another demo, featuring battles. Having not played any demos beyond a barely interactive AR demonstration, I’m so ready to start seeing more of it as it approaches (Japanese) release.

Square, any time you guys wanna announce that this is coming to North America would be swell.
PlayStation Vita’s new Crystal White color and Hatsune Miku bundle system — the former comes out in Japan on June 28, while the later hits on August 30.
PS Vita’s sales don’t appear too hot in the States (and they’ve absolutely cooled in Japan), so I expect Crystal White will make its way here soon. You can watch a trailer showing off both of the PS Vita systems here.

Oo, very pretty!
Personally I have been enjoying the heck out of my Vita, but if past experience has taught me anything, it’s that whatever I like is probably the minority opinion.

Yuzo Koshiro is killin’ it with Etrian Odyssey IV’s soundtrack. I ain’t even mad that he ditched the FM synth for this one. You can listen to more samples on the official website.
Seriously, even if you’re not into first-person dungeon crawlers, it will be worth picking this game up anyway — if it releases here — to enjoy Koshiro’s compositions while taking in Nizo Yamamoto’s landscapes.
And for those who missed it, Koshiro also laid down a tight track for Kid Icarus: Uprising — stream it here.

This is gorgeous.
More evidence that Bravely Default: Flying Fairy will be one of the best looking 3DS games when it releases in Japan later this year, and eventually in the West I hope.
As for that strange title, apparently scenario writer Naotaka Hayashi (Steins;Gate) explained the name to Famitsu, and the meaning behind it is quite literal: “Have courage and renounce the promises and responsibilities that are expected of you.”

New Etrian Odyssey IV trailer shows off the 3DS game’s character art for the different classes, 3D models for monsters, and other things that don’t look too terribly exciting here but probably do a lot to immerse you when you’re actually fighting your way through dungeons, making up your own story for your party’s hardships.

oh my god all those slimes
Slime Stack and Liquid Metal Slime mugs, available in Japan in March. Slime and King Slime mugs are already out, and I think there might be a problem next time I go to Japan, of the “suitcase full of shattered ceramic” variety.
Hachimaki has lots of pics of other Slime goods. I’m considering retiring my Spelunker card case so I can dazzle business contacts with one of these:
People would know who they were dealing with.
