When Windows 7/Vista tell you to update today, they’re not joking.
My Windows computer just prompted me to install an update for a nasty little security flaw.
The security flaw can allow people to run things on your machine by sending data to your computer on a port that is blocked by your machine’s firewall.
Let me say that again. It allows someone to run things on your machine by sending data to a closed port.
You really want to install the update to patch this, if you’re running anything vulnerable (anything newer than WinXP/Server 2003, apparently).

The patches for this apparently just went out in the most recent Patch Tuesday (yesterday).
